This book explains the meaning of dreams and the things that one encounters in dreams, arranged alphabetically from Acacia Tree to Zinc. Krúdy draws his research from Hungarian and Russian dream interpretation texts dating back to 1759, interviews with his soothsayer grandmother, the writings of Sigmund Freud and Freud’s Hungarian contemporary, Dr. Sándor Ferenczi, and pillow talk from Krúdy's mistresses. Krúdy ad-libbed mischievously on these so-called scholarly sources, as his distinctive style of prose is recognizable to any Krúdy fan.
